Old days baraat (people from bridegroom side) reaches brides village with scores of bullock-carts, horse-carts and raths (decorated bullock-carts) loaded with baraatis. In the absence of marriage palaces and five-star hotels, the guests were accommodated in the local dharamshala ( a place for the travlers ). But, the number of guests was too large. Therefore, those left out were taken into their homes by the villagers. Every family in the village was involved in extending hospitality to the guests, who would be staying for the wedding ceremony that lasted about a week. There was no panic or muttering. The animals were well looked after too. All wedding ceremanies were took place in bride's village in home. Time changed and way of wedding ceremany places and method changed. Now most of the people do these ceremanies different way. Palace wedding Now most baraats (people from bridegroom and bride side) reaches in marriage palace. Palaces represent grandeur in weddings ceremony. Palace wedding is a whole new concept in the Indian wedding scenario and particularly for foreigners who are keen on celebrating their wedding in a unique way. Today most of the palaces have been converted to heritage hotels and lure visitors from around the world with their unique regal charm and world class comforts.
